Equity 101 Training Overview
BHT’s Equity 101 training supports mission and service based institutions that work with the community in learning the importance of using equity and anti-racism informed practices. Participants practice engaging in and leading conversations around equity to grow understanding and confidence around equity concepts.
BHT typically offers this10-hour training over five weeks with weekly 2-hour sessions. We can also compress into four weeks, with weekly 2.5-hour sessions, but only for groups of 30 or less. We are however flexible on accommodating unique needs on an individual basis.
Sessions 1-4 include:
-
Facilitated group education
-
Breakout activities for participants to personally explore and engage with one another followed by a group debrief of breakout discussion and discuss how the topic influences the work of the organization
The final session focuses on a facilitated conversation connecting the concepts learned to regional Equity Assessment results. This conversation aims to strategize where there are opportunities to implement equity learning into practical policy and actions to support advancing equity within the organization. By the end of the final session, we aim to help organizations develop the next steps on how to keep moving forward in their equity journeys.
